1)
M. Peterson
started the meeting with opening remarks.
2)
T. Hathaway
created the “Hopkins Sports Softball Library”, which is a list of reference
material for coaches,
parents and players in the Hopkins Fastpitch program
who are interested in getting more information to help them coach better or
play better. If you'd like borrow something from the collection, please email
Ted Hathaway or call him at 952-908-0299 to make arrangements. T. Hathaway to also develop a handout of FAQs for pitchers at winter gym who are new to our program
as well as FAQs for the summer and fall programs for
prospective players.
ACTION: T. Hathaway to work with D. Meyer to post FAQs on the website.

Secretary’s Report
was approved as written.
4)
The Treasurer’s Report
was approved. A dinner certificate was
given to S. Waldhouser and S. Cook in appreciation
for all the time and support they provide at pitching gym.
5)
M. Olson
presented the Fundraiser Report. This
year the Hopkins High School Girls Fastpitch Booster
Club and Hopkins Sports are working together to present the “Softball Royale” a
fundraiser with all proceeds being split between the two programs, and used for
capital improvement of the area softball facilities. M. Olson and C. Eischens to chair the event.

Discussed the
Coaches Clinic held last Friday and Saturday at the Minnetonka Mariott. Several
Hopkins Sports coaches/parents attended this event. High school coaching staff also attended.
7)
Winter Gym
Update. All 3 pitching sessions have
been full at Alice Smith. Need to break
more of the skills levels apart for the 10 and 12U age group. Tim Gormly will
present a catchers clinic next Sunday from 9-11 at Eisenhower.
ACTION: T. Undis to tape the clinic
OLD ACTION: M.
Olson and B. Nybo to inventory/clean/regrip bats. 30 bats need regripping. Inventory appears to be missing those bats
currently being used for winter gym.

M. Olson updated
the group on the status of Salesforce software
use. Fall ball and winter gym as well as
potential summer registrants to be added.
9)
MMFL Update – Several
meetings were held with TCFL. Next MMFL
meeting will be held the week of February 9th.
10)
Evaluation
Committee – Last meeting was January 3rd. Vote by the evaluation committee on how to
split the 12U teams ended in a tie vote.
For 10-14U’s, evaluations will be held at West Junior High on Saturday,
March 4th. Its
anticipated that we’ll have the following teams for summer: 10U 1 or 2 teams; 12U 3 teams with one coming
in from MHGS; 14U 1 or 2 teams; 16U 2 teams and 18U 1 team.

Old Business: We have scheduled our "Hopkins Sports
day at the Twins” for Sunday, May 7th, against the Detroit Tigers. Game time is
1:10 pm. The tickets are $15, and Hopkins Sports will get $6 in return for
every ticket sold. Last year, everyone had an enjoyable time. Tickets have been ordered.

New Business:
Taste Test for the High School program is Tuesday, February 24th. Please sign up.
13)
New
Business: T. Undis reported on the Royal
Rampage Softball Tournament committee.
14)
Meeting adjourned
at 8:45. Next meeting is scheduled for
Monday, February 20th at 7 p.m. at the Hopkins VFW.
