Hopkins Sports Board Meeting

Monday, March 21st, 2005

 

 

Attendance:  M. Olson, C. Eischens, B. Nybo, R. Rivett, M. Peterson, D. Meyer, S. Minkel, T. Undis, J. Rouse, T. Moynihan

 

1)      M. Peterson started the meeting with opening remarks. 

 

2)      Secretary’s Report for February was approved with corrections.

 

3)      The Treasurer’s Report was approved as written. 

 

4)      Fund Raising – M. Olson to set up Hopkins Fastpitch day at the Twins Game on May 1st. Tickets are available at a reduced price of $15 each.  Hopkins Fastpitch will receive $7 for each ticket sold. 

            ACTION:  M. Olson still waiting history/feedback on the corporate letter

 

5)      Winter Gym – Will complete on April 10 and will be closed for Easter. 

ACTION:  Gift certificate for Stan

 

6)      Summer Registration – Tournaments will be reviewed by the evaluation committee with coach input.   T. Undis to contact Tim Luther regarding umpires as well as handle the equipment for each team.  T. Undis and R. Rivett to schedule fields.  T. Undis to contact the Knights regarding field maintenance.  C. Eischens to order uniforms.  T. Moynihan submitted a letter to the Hitching Post soliciting a 4-wheeler donation for field maintenance.  T. Undis to have the locks to the garage re-keyed.  T. Moynihan to contact Pouquet, District Field/Maintenance, at Eisenhower regarding use of the shed at West.

 

7)      Evaluation Committee meets again April 9th.  Current numbers are 22 at the 10U, 26-27 kids at the 12U, 16-17 kids at the 14U and 13 kids at the 16U levels.  A coach’s clinic will be held April 24th at Eisenhower at 1 p.m.       

           

8)      Kickoff picnic to tentatively be held on April 20th at Hopkins High School.  This is to try to coincide with the new softball dedication.  C. Eischens to have a Metro Sports representative at the kickoff. 

 

9)      MMFL/MSF Update – The Suburban League will have approximately 115 teams this summer.  Twin City Fastpitch League will have approximately 150 teams.
