Hopkins Sports Board Meeting

Monday, July 11th, 2005

 

 

Attendance:  M. Peterson, J. Thibault, T. Undis, C. Gonyeau, M. Gallagher, J. Rouse, B. Lucius, D. Meyer, R. Rivett, S. Minkel, M. Olson, B. Nybo, T. Hathaway, C. Eischens

 

1)      M. Peterson started the meeting with opening remarks. 

 

2)      There was no secretary’s report available from the last meeting (April).

 

3)      The Treasurer’s Report was verbally presented.  Approximately 8K in the bank.  Bills to DePaul and Metro Sports have been paid.  TCFL paid their League Tracker fees. 

 

4)      Summer teams fared well.  10U White going to B State, 10U Blue going to A State, both 12U teams going to A State, 14U going to A State, and 16U going to B State.

 

5)      Fall Ball – MMFL fee is $375 which is the same as last year.  Will charge $90 for fall ball, which is the same as last year.  C. Eischens to be responsible for fall registration. 

 

6)      Trading pins were ordered by T. Undis.  Teams will pre-pay for pins prior to receiving them. 

 

7)      Discussion was held regarding “double taxation” for field use at the school fields.  We pay per hour to use fields and then donation dollars back for the softball fields at the high school.  A position paper will be prepared to send to the Athletic Office.  J. Thibault to chair.  Members include T. Undis, M. Peterson, M. Olson and R. Rivett.

 

8)      Player/Parent Survey was discussed.  T. Hathaway distributed survey to the 10U White team.  An additional web survey will be compiled and sent out.  Members of the team include:  T. Hathaway, S. Minkel, and D. Meyer.

 

9)      Question was raised regarding the deposit checks that were written as a deposit fee for working at the Royal Rampage softball tournament.  It was decided the checks would be shredded instead of returned.

ACTION:  This needs to be communicated to all Hopkins Summer parents

 

10)   Meeting adjourned at 8:44.  Next meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 2nd.
