Attendance: M. Peterson, F. Ricco, J. Thibault, T. Undis, C. Eischens, R. Rivett, J. Rouse, T. Moynihan, D. Meyer
1) M. Peterson started the meeting with opening remarks.
2) No Secretary’s report was available. .
3) Treasurer’s report was approved. Accepted formal resignation of F. Ricco as Treasurer with thanks from the board for his many years of support.
4) Slots have been reserved for Taste Testing in January by Felix. Need to verify if Hopkins Sports wants to use or give to the high school program for possible use.
5) Letters were submitted soliciting funds for sod to the Hopkins Legion, Elks and Jaycees. No responses received to date.
6) Fall Ball was discussed. MMFL going well. October 11 will be the next MMFL meeting at the Hopkins VFW at 7 p.m. MMFL positive feedback to date includes having schedules on line, attaching maps, playing similar caliber teams and using League Tracker. Thanks for J. Thibault and D. Meyer for their hard work with the MMFL.
ACTION: Uniform turn-in will be Monday, September 27th from 6:30-7 in the West Junior High parking lot. All coaches to remind kids to turn them in. C. Eischens coordinating.
7) Banquet planning is underway for the year-end banquet to be held October 4th at the VFW. T. Moynihan sent a letter to the VFW asking for their donation of covering the banquet expenses. Michelle Wong to be the featured speaker at the banquet.
ACTION: C. Eischens to forward e-mail addresses to D. Meyer to send out electronic invitation to the banquet.
8) General meeting for Hopkins Sports will be November 15th.
9) VFW is hosting a fundraiser meal on Sunday, October 3rd. They have requested girls from the fastpitch organization to help wait tables for the event.
ACTION: D. Meyer to send out e-mail encouraging attendance at this fundraiser.
10) Winter Gym was discussed. Cost for this year will be $95/session or $175 for both sessions for kids with district 270 or previous players with the organization. Pitching only will be $95.
11) On Saturday, October 2nd at 10 a.m. batting cages will be installed at West Junior High. Need any available help. Contact T. Undis for more information.
12) Discussed open board positions. T. Moynihan submitted his resignation as League Director effective October 4th. The board thanked Tim for his many years of service.
13) Meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
