Hopkins Sports Board Meeting

Monday, December 20th, 2004

 

 

Attendance:  M. Peterson, T. Parsons, D. Meyer, R. Rivett, J. Thibault, T. Undis, C. Eischens, J. Rouse, M. Olson

 

1)     M. Peterson started the meeting with opening remarks.  

 

2)     Secretaries Report for November was approved as written.

 

3)     The Treasurer’s Report was approved as written.  

 

4)     Winter Gym – Number of girls attending is down from previous years.   Will open up second session to girls outside of the Hopkins program by posting on Fastsports and e-mailing coaches from the MMFL list.   No College Softball program will be held on January 2nd.  Will have regular winter gym.

 

5)     Evaluation Committee – Summer Evaluations will be held February 13th at the Lindbergh Center.  Added M. Olson and S. Minkel to the Evaluation Committee membership.  Other members include T. Undis, j. Thibault, J. Rouse, R. Rivett, D. Meyer, M. Lipinski, and B. Nybo.  Committee will address policy on moving players up at the next meeting.  Next meeting is January 8th.

 

6)     Summer Registration forms will be mailed in late December.  10U will be $160 for the season.  12-18U will be $225 early registration (before January 24th), $260 regular and $280 late fee (after February 12th).  Looking at hosting a 10 & 12U tournament in mid to late May.  The tournament committee will hold its first meeting on Monday December 27th at the VFW.  Recommendation was made to not buy any new bats this year.  

 

        ACTION:  C. Eischens to complete mailing for summer registration.  

        ACTION:  C. Eischens to get copies of summer registration flyers to all elementary schools

        ACTION:  C. Eischens to post information in Sun Sailor regarding registration

 

7)     High School team is going to Florida over Spring break.  20 kids, 2 coaches and 3 chaperones will be attending.

 

8)     Old Business – T. Undis still pursuing quotes for helmets/facemasks from All Star Sports & Metro Sports.  Discussion was held regarding the official stamp on the facemasks.  

 

9)     National Coaches Clinic will be held January 14th and 15th at the Minneapolis Marriot in Minnetonka.

 

10)   Meeting adjourned at 9:30.
