Hopkins Sports Board Meeting

Monday, October 13, 2003

Attendance: M. Peterson, J. Thibault, C. Eischens, T. Undis, D. Meyer, R. Rivett; J. Rouse; J. Clark; T. Moynihan, F. Ricco, T. Parsons

1) M. Peterson started the meeting with opening remarks.

2) Minutes were approved as written.

3) F. Ricco/R. Rivett gave treasurer’s report and it was approved. Bulk mailing permit still in progress.

4) M. Peterson discussed Winter Gym. Instructors for winter gym are set with same prices per hour as last year. J. Tschida will give a clinic on October 26^th from 12-4 for parents and coaches. For the 18U & Varsity/JV session from 11-1, every other session will be devoted to hitting. Permits for gym use have been completed.

ACTION: D. Meyer and M. Peterson to meet with Stan on pitching schedule.

5) Wrapped up Fall softball season.

ACTION: T. Parsons to put 12U team’s picture in Sun Sailor for the 12U Tier I Fall Championship.

6) Year end banquet set for October 14^th. Nice work by T. Moynihan for organizing this event.

7) Discussed status of high school softball field development. Nothing new on status of hiring a new high school softball coach.

8) J. Clark discussed equipment. Still working on getting catcher’s gear back from players.

9) T. Undis presented the board with a $1,000 check from the Bureau of Family Opinion. This was from a drawing this summer when the 14U team participated in taste testing.

10) Approval of scholarships was discussed. Policy needs to be developed for applying for scholarships on a season-by-season basis. T. Moynihan is the point of contact. Policy will be discussed further at the next board meeting.

11) Next Evaluation Committee meeting will be November 1^st.

12) Meeting adjourned at 8:47 p.m. Next meeting will be November 17^th.
