2) Minutes were approved as written.
3) F. Ricco/R. Rivett gave treasurer’s report and it was approved. Annual Report was presented and reviewed. This is available upon request by contacting Rick Rivett.
ACTION: Check status of bulk mailing permit – R. Rivett
4) M. Peterson discussed Winter Gym. C. Jernell will be working with the younger kids at winter gym. Discussion was held on what to focus on during winter gym sessions. Currently trying to focus one week on hitting and the next on hitting/defense. Will re-evaluate the time spent on hitting, defense, etc. at the next board meeting.
ACTION: C. Eischens to provide M. Peterson list of kids to check if all pitchers are registered/paid
5) Wrapped up fall softball season with a great banquet. Received $4,000 from the VFW. Approximately 175 people attended. Thanks to Tim Moynihan and his banquet committee for another great banquet.
ACTION: T. Moynihan to send thank you to VFW for their support.
6) Old Business – R. Rivett to check on bulk mailing permit. Corey Knight has been paid for the summer/fall fieldwork.
7) First aid kits need to be returned to J. Clark. It’s believed the following coaches/teams have not turned in first aid kits: M. Peterson (2), T. Moynihan (2), J. Rouse (1), and T. Parsons (1)
8) J. Clark discussed equipment. Need bats back from T. Parsons.
9) Motion was made and approved to amend the bylaws to change Hopkins Sports operating year from September 1st through August 31st to November 1st to October 31st. This is to better coincide with the end of the fall season and start of winter gym.
10) D. Meyer discussed two “feedbacks” that were received from the website over the season. Problem with the automatic relay of the messages to board members has been corrected.
11) T. Undis asked that the 2004 season be the final season Hopkins Sports subsidize the cost of adding masks to helmets as in 2005 all JO teams will be required to have a mask.
12) Old Action Item - Approval of scholarships was discussed. Policy needs to be developed for applying for scholarships on a season-by-season basis. T. Moynihan is the point of contact. Policy will be discussed further at the next board meeting.
13) Meeting adjourned. Next meeting will be December 15th.
Respectfully Submitted
