Hopkins Sports Board Meeting

Monday, July 14th, 2003

 

 

Attendance:  M. Peterson,   C. Eischens, T. Undis, D. Meyer, R. Rivett; J. Rouse; J. Clark; T. Moynihan, T. Parsons, B. Lucius, J. Thibault

 

1)       M. Peterson started the meeting with opening remarks. 

 

2)       Minutes were approved as written from 4/21/03.

 

3)       Treasurer’s report was approved.  Received payment for League Tracker and D. Meyer donated the money back to Hopkins Sports.  Thanks to Dean for developing and administrating this software.  It was well received by the users. 

               

4)       Fall softball registration will be mailed the week of July 14th.  Team registration is due on Friday, July 25th.    Fall ball dates are August 24th, September 7th, September 13th, with state qualifiers on September 20/21 and state tournament on September 27/28.  Point of contact for general questions will be T. Moynihan.  10U will be J. Rouse, 12U will be T. Parsons, 14U will be R. Rivett,  and 16U will be T. Moynihan. 

 

                ACTION:  C. Eischens to do mailing for fall ball.  Will get MHGS database for mailing as well.

 

5)       Facility Update – M. Peterson and T. Moynihan met with D. Johnson.  Additional meeting will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m.  The site plan for the softball fields was reviewed.  Will look for additional information after tomorrow’s meeting.

 

6)       A successful Summer season is winding down.  The 12U Blue team is going to the AFA North American “A” Tournament in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.  The 14U Blue team is going to the ASA “B” West Nationals in Springfield, Missouri.  The 18U Blue team is going to Omaha, Nebraska.  The 16U Blue team qualified for the Western “B” National Tournament in St. Louis but chose not to attend.  The 10U’s are playing their state tournament this next weekend. 

               

7)       Discussed potential of making the registration date for next year’s summer teams earlier than in year’s past.  Discussion was tabled and will be brought up at another board meeting.        

 

8)       Tentative date for year end banquet was discussed.  Will check into the availability of the VFW and pin down a date as well.

 

9)        Meeting adjourned @ 9:20
