Board Meeting
Monday, February
17th, 2003
Attendance: M. Peterson, J. Thibault, C. Eischens, D. Meyer, R. Rivett; J. Rouse; J. Clark; T. Moynihan, F. Ricco, T. Parsons
1) M. Peterson started the meeting with opening remarks.
2) Minutes were approved as written.
3) R. Rivett gave treasurer’s report. Information approved as provided.
OLD ACTION: R. Rivett to fill out form for bulk mailing permit for Hopkins Sports
4) M. Peterson discussed Winter Gym. Jen to continue working 11-4 until we tell her not to or through the end of April. After varsity softball practice starts she’ll work 1-4 p.m.
5) Summer registration numbers were discussed. 10U – 4 registered and 3 more planned; need minimum of 10 signed up. 12U – 14 signed up and 3 more possible. 14U – 14 registered. 16U – 13 registered with the possibility of 2 teams with other registrations still coming. 18U – 9 registered, expect 4 more.
6) Facilities update was given by M. Peterson. M. Peterson, J. Thibault and S. Hall held a meeting with school administration regarding upgrading softball fields. Tentative plans are that the school would be responsible for all field work below ground (leveling work, sprinklers, drainage, etc) while Hopkins Sports would take care of above ground development (lime, fencing, dugouts, scoreboards, etc). Another meeting is scheduled for February 18th to meet with the architect. Preliminary plan is to start construction upon completion of high school softball season.
OLD ACTION: M. Peterson to ask K. Johnson about field usage at West for the summer
OLD ACTION: F. Ricco to verify small storage shed at West still exists as a potential space for equipment
7) Player evaluations will be held February 22nd with a make-up session scheduled for March 16.
ACTION: All players currently registered need to be called regarding evaluations.
8) Waiver request for S. Walczak was presented and approved. Board consensus was that future waiver requests need to be presented to board in person by player and parent.
9) Tournament registration was discussed. The 16U and 18U teams will be going to Sioux Falls in late June. The 12U and 14U teams cannot go due to state qualifiers. Looking for other out of town tournaments for the 12U and 14U’s. Need to determine players uniform needs to order can be placed by mid-March.
ACTION: T. Moynihan to check All Star Sports for competitive quote.
10) In Old Business, J. Clark had written 2 letters to the City of Minnetonka regarding field usage at Gillium and Big Willow. Motion was made and approved to hold the letters until further review at the next board meeting.
11) R. Rivett asked members if they’d reviewed the bylaw information presented at the last meeting. Final review has been pushed to next board meeting.
12) Garage needs to be re-keyed for security purposes. Also needs to check serial numbers on pitching machines.

OLD ACTION: J. Thibault to call Juggs for pitching machine serial numbers to cross reference to those machines that Hopkins Sports owns
13) The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 17th. Meeting adjourned.
