About Hopkins Fastpitch
About Hopkins Fastpitch Hopkins Fastpitch fields community based "Travel" and "Recreational" fastpitch softball teams, representing the communities of the Hopkins School District, including Minnetonka, Golden Valley, Edina, St. Louis Park, Plymouth and Eden Prairie. We field Recreation teams for girls grades K-12 (Division 1 thru 5) in the Summer, and Travel teams for girls ages 7 to 16 (10U through 16U), for both Summer and Fall seasons. Hopkins Fastpitch is the "feeder" program for the Hopkins High School fastpitch program. We enjoy a positive relationship with the Hopkins School District. Hopkins Fastpitch is incorporated in the State of Minnesota as a Non-Profit Corporation under Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 317A, and organized under the United States Internal Revenue Code, Section 501(c)(3). Contributions to the organization may be considered tax deductible. ALL contributions to Hopkins Fastpitch are used for improving the facilities, instruction and experiences of our teams and players About Our Programs The Recreational Teams play with other teams from Plymouth, Wayzata, Orono and St. Louis Park. These teams play weeknights Mid-May thru early July, along with an end of season tournament. Travel Teams participate in the Twin Cities Suburban League, which covers all of the west metro and a large portion of both the north and south metro areas. Teams play doubleheaders one or two nights a week in May, June and July. In addition, each team typically plays in 4 or 5 weekend tournaments each summer. Teams can qualify for state, regional and national tournaments. In the fall, we form travel teams for the Minnesota Metro Fastpitch (MMFL) Fall League. This season extends for 5 weeks including a state tournament and qualifier. During the season, each team plays two games on Sunday afternoons. The fall level is a great way for girls to get a taste of travel ball. During our long winter season we offer a Sunday afternoon clinics at Eisenhower Community Center and Alice Smith Elementary. We offer instruction on throwing, fielding, pitching and batting. Teams are selected each spring. Scholarships It is the organization's policy to ensure girls, in District 270, have the opportunity to play travelling fastpitch. To accomplish this policy, we offer scholarships on an as needed basis to families of girls who wish to play. If you feel that a scholarship would be a factor in allowing a girl to play, please contact a Board Member to discuss the issue. Hopkins Sports is a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions toward the scholarship fund, or other purposes should be considered charitable donations for tax purposes. Our Mission Hopkins Fastpitch strives to provide a positive, competitive experience for players of all abilities, with emphasis on teaching the fundamentals of the game. Sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development are stressed. Hopkins Fastpitch is a parent and volunteer organization committed to building an appreciation for fastpitch softball through parental involvement and quality coaching.
