Establishing expectations and training rules is for the benefit of the whole team. Each individual has the responsibility to her team members to train/practice and behave in a manner that is consistent with being as physically and mentally prepared as possible. A dedicated student-athlete should be prepared to live a lifestyle that is conducive to representing herself and her team in the best positive way possible.
1. Adherence to the Minnesota State High School League code of responsibilities is expected.
2. The use of tobacco, alcohol, or any drugs not prescribed by a physician is strictly prohibited (attendance at gatherings or association with people not of legal age where alcohol or controlled substances are present is a violation of our team/school expectations). LEAVE the scene.
3. Attendance at practices and games is mandatory unless prior arrangements have been made.
Violation of any of the above expectations and training rules will be handled on an individual basis. Any student-athlete who has a question about any possible violation should contact any one of the Coaches immediately. The student-athlete and coaching staff will meet to discuss specific concerns and any penalties. The coaches and the athletic director will be responsible for the final decision.
As a member of a high school athletic program, it is important to realize that practice is essential in order to improve your skills. PRACTICE IS MANDATORY. Any absence from practice must be cleared with your coach at least one day prior to the practice being missed. Any illness must be approved as excused through the attendance office policy. You must be in school at least 1/2 day to practice or to compete. Please try to schedule regular appointments at other times than practice.
Injuries: The head athletic trainer: Scott Westerman 988-4616, will handle all injuries. If you go to a doctor, you must have a note of clearance before you can practice/compete again.
