Hopkins High School Fast Pitch
has a rich tradition in both academic and athletic success, and WE as the team
must exemplify and continue to carry out that tradition. The choices that we make both individually,
and as a team, will reflect our commitment and our priorities not only at
1. Family: You are, first and foremost, a member of your family. Your family defines who you are and should be your top priority throughout your life. Concerns for your family are always top priority.
2. School: You are a STUDENT-ATHLETE. You are expected to excel in the classroom and to work to the best of your abilities. Being academically eligible is your responsibility. Be on time to your classes, be prepared for class, participate and be respectful to your classmates and the teachers. The TEAM has had MANY student-athletes achieve academic recognition locally, state wide as well as nationally. The TEAM has been among the Nations best for highest GPA (grade point average). The TEAM has placed in the top ten during AC’s first 6 years, and in 2002 and 2006 we were #1 in the nation for highest GPA. Let’s work hard to pursue many academic achievements! We will work hard to become the best athletes we can be, however, the opportunities offered from our academic work will take us much farther through life than athletics will.
3. Softball: For the next 3-4 months, you will be a member of the Hopkins Royals Fast Pitch Team. Take great pride in that fact. Our team has developed a tradition of excellence, and YOU can work hard to be part of that tradition. Anything that interferes with your progress as a student-athlete outside of family and school should be carefully considered. Make choices that represent our TEAM in a first class manner.
